Tokyo, Japan 2015: Tokyo Disney Sea (Part 11)

Day 4 (2nd stop):

Tokyo Disney Sea. May 14, 2015.

Tokyo Disney Sea, unique to Asia and the entire Disney theme park chain for its nautical theme, is now on its 15th year of operation. When we came there in May, the whole theme park was decorated for Easter with tons of Disney Easter eggs!

We're coming for you, Disney!

(After leaving our excess bags into a public locker room.)

Ikspiari.

The commercial shopping center that serves as a gate to Tokyo Disney Resort.

Disney's Easter 2015.

All aboard the Disney train!

Complete with music from hit Disney movies as well as mickey's everywhere.

Hold on tight to Mickey.

This is the first glimpse of Tokyo Disney Sea we had.
It looks like an ancient town I'd love to explore.

Here's the Tokyo Disney Sea Map.

It's the obligatory photo with the fountain.

Found Minnie's egg!

Is that Chip or Dale? haha

Can I steal you?

Goofy!

Entering into the American Waterfront...

...where the Tower of Terror is!

A must-ride in our bucket list hehe.

Taking a photo before getting in.

You can actually hear screams from where I was standing.

And there we were on the right side, second row.

*SPOILER ALERT*

First, they'll tour you around the haunted hotel. The story will be narrated to you, but it's in Japanese (tough luck trying to scare us out hehe).

Second, then you'll be seated in an elevator where you won't come out alive, due to the curse, they say. Strap on the seatbelt and clutch your belongings really hard because you know the terror's coming next.

The first time it goes up is actually pleasant. It feels like you are on a legit elevator of an antique hotel. The doors open on one of the floors revealing a hotel lobby. Then it closes and goes up again. The next time it opens, you are faced with a mirror and you actually see yourself.

*Wave to yourself*

And then lightning strikes, you become skeletons in the mirror and bam!

It suddenly goes down. And then up again.

Up to the very top.

The door opens and you get a scenic view of Port Discovery and the Mediterranean Harbor.

And then it happened so fast.

*LIGHTING*

*DOOR CLOSES*

*ELEVATOR GOES DOWN TO THE BOTTOM*

It goes up slowly again and then down.

And then up to the very top once again. Once you see the beautiful view, you know what's coming next. Uh-oh.

*LIGHTING*

*DOOR CLOSES*

*ELEVATOR GOES DOWN TO THE BOTTOM*

Your heart drops each time.

*SPOILER END*

When you come to Tokyo Disney Sea, do ride it.

Mediterranean Harbor.

The Venetian Gondolas.

Look at the details. It's amazing how they've turned it into Italy.

Our gondolier.

He sang, told jokes, and evaded getting hit on the head by the canal.

Mysterious Island.

Mermaid Lagoon.

Triton's Kingdom.

We made it in time for the "Under the Sea" musical show of Ariel and friends at the Mermaid Lagoon Theater.

The nighttime finale show on water.

In this photo, you can the dragon from Sleeping Beauty engaging in a battle with Mickey on another raft. The flames, fireworks, and music and the appearances of characters from different Disney classics on water make this an unforgettable show.

Souvenir-hunting time!

Super love these phone cases, but it's all for iPhone only (I'm a Samsung user). Bummer!

Find the hidden Mickey ;)

Standing here that night, the air was freezing.

I've never felt weather this cold before. My cheeks are turning red and we're all huddling together!

Goodbye, Disney Sea, until the next time we come back!

We need to eat.

There's a convenient store outside the train platform and we got ourselves onigiri.

Here's mine.

It's all in Japanese so I can't tell what's the filling. It tasted so funny.

We look a bit haggard XD

Dinner is at this place near our hotel.

You order and pay through a vending machine just like the ramen shop we visited in Ameyayokocho. Pretty neat.

And then the sever comes out with your food!

So cute!

Authentic gyudon with miso soup at the side.

Chicken teriyaki.

Ueno is filled with restaurants.

We pass by this on our way back to the hotel.

...
