Yesterday

The poem below is inspired by
Haiku/Touch
By Jim Moore
Do not feel lonely.
The disappearing world longs
for you to touch it.

Yesterday.
Is too far away.

The laughter.
An echo of each other
Fills the chilly, night air
Our voices are loud
Sometimes, we overlap
We don't make any sense
Yet, we don’t care
(I like it)
When silent,
Eyes meet,
The upward curves of our lips
still never cease to be.
The clink of the cups on the table top
The rush of hot, brown coffee into my mouth
Above, the moon shines
We see black, we see darkness
It engulfs the sky
The laughter.

Yesterday only knows how
to disappear.
